Interview | Legendary Tiger Man | One Blues Man Rocking Band
Publié par Valerysept 9
If you don’t know Legendary Tiger Man it’s time to discover him. He is the singer and guitarist of Wraygunn. Wraygunn whom Esclesiastes 1.11 is a reference for people who like Burning Rock and Soul for untamed Rockers. And when he does not play with Wraygunn, Paulo Furtado plays everything within Legendary Tiger Man.
You are playing within Wraygunn since 1999: why Legendary Tiger Man? A need to breath out of Wraygunn or something you wanted for a very long time?
Actually, both projects started at the same time… i had never sang before, so i was in this place just composing, playing guitar and singing for the whole summer in 1999.. and there was a bass drum and a hi-hat in that place, so at some time i was bored and just started playing it… and some songs worked. That´s how it all started, by accident….
What DONT you do within Legendary Tiger Man?
Well, for the moment i don’t manufacture the records myself…
What’s the plan for Legendary Tiger Man for the coming 2 years?
Like in the song i do with Peaches, in the new album Femina, she asks me « what´s the plan, Tigerman? », and the answer is « no plan…. »
ahahahah
A song you would like to cover?
So many… I’ll pick one I haven’t tried yet… Shakin´ all over, by Vince Taylor
What about a duo with The Venus Fly Trap One Girl Band?
I like her style, but i do prefer Becky Lee & Drunkfoot
What do you feel looking at this vids:
Well, that was a hard night. I was closing this stage, my biggest show at that time, in a very big festival in Portugal, and the power was dead for a long time, and weird stuff happenned with the drums…
well… looking at it now, it was not that bad.
How do you discover music today?
Well, some through myspace, some in good record stores, some from my friends… unfortunately, Radio & Tv dont have much part in helping people discover interesting projects…
What is, according to you, the real problem of music industry today?
Well, there are so many problems. And not only with the industry, i dont think that people pay that much attention to music as they did a few years ago… maybe people hear more music nowadays, but they probably dont listen to it right. you need a lot of time to listen to a record, its the same as tasting a good wine… everytime you drink it changes a bit, gets richer. I dont think people have much time, anyway, so of course i understand that. Its a sign of the times.
Any thoughts about Music piracy?
Well, if we dont find a solution, and i mean a global solution to sell music, i dont think i´ll be able to record more albums like the one i just did. You just cant afford to do it.
Live Music: what has changed -according to you over the last ten years?
Well, when i was a kid, going out for a gig was something really, really important. For a lot of People. And you know, anything could happen. And normally did. I don’t see that « out of Control » feeling in many gigs, nowadays. Might be good, in a way, but it certainly is more boring.
Any story you feel like mentioning, great meeting or an artist you’ve just discovered: feel free…
Let me give you the best story ever…
Thanks to Paulo and his manager Paulo for those answers. The toughts of Paulo about people not paying that much attention to music really made me think. This is getting more and more true every day.
And the fact that he might not be be doing another record is also something to consider beyond great ideas about “the revolution ongoing”. Before it comes to truth some artist suffer the change.
And Legendary Tiger Man and Wraygunn definitely deserve to go on doing their music cause they rock, they incredibly rock.
And get to know and listen to Paulo NOW. Especially as his new EP “Life ain’t enough for you” is available those days:
Ps: Oh and the story about “Haze” Adkins is just amazing. Have a look at it.

[...] Monsieur Wraygunn himself. [...]
